Overview of Vietnam's Livestock Industry

Vietnam, as a new "tiger economy" in Southeast Asia, has shown strong growth momentum in the past few years. Vietnam has a large population, is full of vitality, and has leapt to the forefront of international trade, becoming a highly attractive international investment target. In recent years, bilateral trade between China and Vietnam has developed rapidly. China has been Vietnam's largest trading partner for many consecutive years, and Vietnam is China's largest trading partner in ASEAN and the fourth largest trading partner in the world. Meanwhile, in recent years, Chinese enterprises have significantly increased their investment in Vietnam, and their proportion in attracting foreign investment has been increasing year by year. The results of investment cooperation between China and Vietnam have been significant.

According to FAO data, Vietnam's pork production in 2022 is 3.1 million tons; 51.11 million heads sold; There are 87.24 million laying hens in stock, and the production of shell eggs is 440000 tons; 560 million broiler chickens were sold, with a chicken production of 1.07 million tons. It is expected that within the next 5 years, Vietnam's demand for feed raw materials will increase to 28 million to 30 million tons per year, with a cost of 12 billion to 13 billion US dollars; Feed production will increase by 13% to 15% annually, making Vietnam the largest feed producing country in Southeast Asia. On the other hand, although Vietnam has a relatively abundant supply of livestock products, the import value of livestock products in Vietnam still exceeds 3 billion US dollars, with fresh pork being the most abundant, followed by other meat and poultry by-products.

Vietnam's animal husbandry is a market with enormous potential, full of opportunities for Chinese animal husbandry enterprises!
